This Privacy Policy explains how the Fishing Notes mobile application
(“the App”, package com.merkost.fishingnotes) collects, uses, and shares
your information. The App is operated by Konstantin Merenkov (“we”, “us”).
By using the App, you agree to the practices described here.
1. Information we collect

2. How we use your information
- To provide core features: saving spots, logging catches, and showing weather.
- To sync your data across the devices where you sign in.
- To keep the App reliable through crash and performance monitoring.
- To display advertising in the free version of the App.
We never post on your behalf, and we never sell your personal data.
3. Third-party services
The App relies on the following service providers, who process data on our behalf or to provide their service. All network traffic is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS).
- Google Firebase (Authentication, Firestore, Storage, Analytics, Crashlytics, Performance) — Firebase Privacy
- Google Maps — map display and geocoding — Google Privacy Policy
- Google AdMob — advertising — AdMob policies
- OpenWeatherMap — weather data for coordinates you view — OpenWeather Privacy
- RapidAPI — weather/data API gateway — RapidAPI Privacy
4. Data retention
We keep your account data and catch log for as long as your account exists. When your account is deleted, the associated data is removed from our systems.
5. Deleting your account and data
You can delete your account and all associated data (places, catches, photos and profile) directly in the App: open Profile → Settings → Account → Delete account and confirm. Deletion is immediate and cannot be undone.
You can also request deletion at any time by emailing us at merkostdev+fishing@gmail.com with the email address used in the App. We will process the request and confirm once your data has been removed.
6. Children
Fishing Notes is intended for a general, adult recreational audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
7. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date at the top of this page.
